What transfers from ActiveCampaign to GoHighLevel (and what doesn’t)
Migrating off ActiveCampaign is mostly a data-and-consent problem. Here is exactly what moves into GoHighLevel, what doesn’t, and how the result is verified.
What moves
- Contacts
- Yes — name, email, phone. Deduplicated to one row per identity.
- Tags
- Yes — added to GoHighLevel without overwriting existing tags.
- Custom fields
- Text, date, and single-select. Values normalized; unsupported types (multi-select, etc.) are excluded and listed in the exception report.
- Unsubscribe & DND
- Yes — per-list subscription state and bounces are mapped to GoHighLevel email DND, failing safe toward suppression. Per-list opt-outs are preserved as AC-Unsub tags.
- Lists
- Preserved as "List: <name>" tags.
- Notes
- Not included in the standard package.
- Deals / opportunities
- Not applicable (ActiveCampaign has no deal object migrated in v1).
- Creation dates
- GoHighLevel sets its own contact creation date; the original is preserved in a custom field.
What does not transfer
- Automations, campaigns, forms, funnels, pipelines, calendars, websites, and other unsupported CRM objects are not included in this migration service. They can be rebuilt as separate, quoted work.
- v1 migrates into a fresh / empty GoHighLevel location by default.
- Original contact creation dates are stored in a custom field (GoHighLevel stamps its own).
Automations, funnels, and forms have no reliable migration path between the two platforms — every serious migration rebuilds them natively in GoHighLevel. This service deliberately stays in its lane: it moves the data and preserves consent, then proves what landed.
How the result is verified
Read your ActiveCampaign data read-only via the API, normalize it, migrate into GoHighLevel with idempotent writes, then read the contacts back out and reconcile.
You receive a reconciliation report — every eligible record accounted for as migrated, excluded, or failed — plus an exceptions list naming anything that did not transfer and why.
Common questions
Do automations and funnels transfer from ActiveCampaign to GoHighLevel?
No. There is no reliable API path to move ActiveCampaign automations, funnels, or forms into GoHighLevel, so they are rebuilt natively — work your team or agency usually keeps in-house. This service moves data and consent state, not automations.
What happens to unsubscribed and bounced contacts?
Supported ActiveCampaign unsubscribe and bounce states are preserved as suppressed in GoHighLevel (email DND), failing safe toward suppression, with per-list opt-outs kept as "AC-Unsub:" tags so nothing is lost.
How do I know everything actually arrived?
After writing to GoHighLevel we read the contacts back out and reconcile — every eligible record is accounted for as migrated, excluded, or failed, with an exceptions list.
